Pre-Ballet students: En Qi & Chin Ly
A good posture is the foremost important element in dance training (Ballet, Jazz, Modern). Once a dance student manages to hold a good posture:correct body alignments, use of muscles, weight placement come naturally, therefore she could move with more ease and freedom.
All Ballet and Jazz students are trained and reminded to stretch and lengthen their body, from bottom spine up to the top of head, with correct use of stomach and back muscles. Gradually, a good posture is rooted firmly and naturally in them, of course, good techniques as well.
However, this is never easy to achieve! That's why a serious and good training must start since the young age. A dance teacher plays vital role in giving instructions, watching and correcting the students in every class , with great patience (don't hunchback. pull-up, feel up, reach the sky...blah blah blah, lots of nags haha!)
To force the students to hold their bodies straight still has to be avoided since it only trains 'robots' instead of beautiful dancers!
Pre-Ballet students trying their best to sit like princesses!
